Welcome Fans, Friends, and Visitors,

Picture of Keith Rosen,

Hi.

Hi.  The Christian New Year begins this week.  This is yet another excuse to party.  This is also the last week of the NFL 16-game regular season of 32 teams as well as the first week of the 4-rounds of the playoffs.  The playoffs bring more excitement with the 10 best remaining teams vying for the Super Bowl.

Weather in Houston

From mid-December through February, Houston can deal with heavy fog in the morning until about 10:00 AM.  If the temperature of the air sinks below its dew point, water vapor will condense around dust in the air to form fog.  The dew point is the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor.  The dew point is similar, but not the same as humidity.  A comfortable dew point is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit/15 degrees Centigrade and below.  The dewpoint is often 75 degrees Fahrenheit/24 degrees Centigrade and higher.  Thus, when the air temperature is lower than the dew point, Houston has fog.  Click here for the weekly report.

Historically, most people put up their holiday lights on the weekend immediately following Thanksgiving.  Nowadays, some people put up lights after Halloween while other people wait until the first weekend in December.  By the second week in December, you should be able to see a maximum number of lights.
